MDH’s Dharmapala came to India with 1500 rupees, now the emperor of spices

Mahashay Dharampal was born on 27 March 1923 in Sialkot (now in Pakistan). In the year 1933, he left school even before completing the 5th standard. In the year 1937, he started the business with the help of his father and after that he did business of soap, carpenter, cloth, hardware, rice.

However, he could not do this job for a long time and he started a business with his father. He started working in his father’s shop named ‘Maheshiyan Di Hatti’. It was known as Dee Mirth Wale.

After the India-Pakistan partition, he came to Delhi and on 27 September 1947 he had only 1500 rupees. With this money, he bought a Tanga for 650 rupees and ran a tanga between Qutub Road from New Delhi railway station.
